Startling, original, hugely entertaining, The Boston Globe describes
them as "dixieland, pop, avant-jazz, rock... fully over the
top." Led by the irreverently prolific writer-songsinger-satirist-guitarist
Chandler Travis (who sometimes opens for friend George Carlin)
the nine piece Philharmonic consists of some of Beantown's finest
cats on trombone, accordion, sax, mandocello, trumpet, rhythm
section and sometimes clarinet. Shows boast obscure, anachronistic
covers, Chandler's mind numbingly funny spoken interludes and
the ensemble's furious psycho-jungle-dixie sound.
