Winners of 1999 Boston Panorama competition, METRO STEEL is an authentic Trinidadian steel band consisting of up to 12 musicians and percussionists. Led by panner, arranger, tuner Glen Gabriel (who has operated a "pan yard" in Boston since 1974 where 55 gallon oil drums are transformed by hand into different sized and pitched drums), their repertoire spans the music of Carnival in Trinidad to calypso, pop, jazz and even classical.
